After launching in New Zealand earlier this year, the environmentally conscientious company is announcing a new relationship with charity, Kiwis for kiwi.
Lionel Lalonde, VP Sales Eco Alkalines Inc, says: “Our range of high power, long life alkaline batteries are the first of their kind to be certified as being carbon neutral, offsetting carbon emissions – we wanted to find a New Zealand charity that closely reflects what we’re aiming to achieve – protecting and conserving our environment.”
“Kiwis for kiwi was the perfect fit as the charity works extremely hard to help protect kiwi and their habitats across New Zealand. We’re thrilled to be on board and part of the journey – providing them the well-earned support for what they do.”
Michele Impey, Executive Director for Kiwis for kiwi, says: “We’re extremely excited to be working together with Eco Alkalines.”
“The funds will help go towards a number of kiwi conservation projects across New Zealand and of course, as kiwi are nocturnal birds, Eco Alkaline batteries will help power-up our field-workers’ head torches!”
Eco Alkaline batteries are environmentally responsible, contain 0% cadmium, lead or mercury, and use recyclable packaging and PET plastic – they are also a high performance, long lasting, digital quality battery that won’t let you down.
The Eco Alkaline range consists of the usual AAA, AA, C, D and 9 volt. Eco Alkaline batteries are available from Countdown nationwide, as well as smaller stores such as ecostore, Wise Circada, Wendyl’s Green Goddess shop, Harvest Wholefoods, Commonsense Organics, The Loggers Shop and Huckleberry Farms. Batteries start at RRP $4.95. Eco Alkalines are also the official battery of choice at the Auckland and Wellington Zoo.
