Kiwi is one exceptional bird and as such can teach us lots about how birds and other animals adapt to life on Earth. We know relatively little about them and I am a curious scientist that wants to find out as much as I can about the wonderful natural world around us. Finally kiwi as a group are threatened by human activities and I would like to help protect species and their habitats for future generations to enjoy.
Every day in the field working with these beautiful birds is a high point for me. Being able to see them foraging at night, interacting with each other and thriving is the best feeling in the world.
Every news item telling us about our pet dogs mauling kiwi in our forest and to know that those are only the reported cases…
Thoughts for the future
I believe that we care about our wildlife and we will manage them successfully into the future…
